Join Housing & Residential Life at the Annual Resident Assistant Banquet on Sunday, April 19, 2025 at Health Science Innovation Building - First Floor Lobby
The Student Staff Recognition Committee is excited to host you at this one of a kind event. Below you can find the details of the event and what to expect.
The evening will have a theme of "A Night to Shine." This theme provides a pastel colored event that will elevate you above. We encourage you and your staff to dress in line with the theme or take a different spin on it and come in a dressed concept.
The evening will not provide a full-meal, Community Directors will be provide information for purchasing a meal prior to the event for staff. The event will have light refreshments, great photo-ops, and time to connect with your staff.
This event celebrates the dedication and hard work put on by Resident Assistants and staffs as a whole. You have the opportunity to submit Nominations for awards via the Nomination Portal. Please work as a staff to ensure everyone you want to nominate receives a nomination. At the bottom of this page, you can review an overview of the Nomination Process and you will find the link to the Nomination Portal.

The Location of the Event: Health Science Innovation Building - First Floor Lobby
Doors Open At: 6:30 PM
Award Show Starts At: 7:00 PM (expected 120 minutes run time)
Staffs will have dinner planned by supervisor prior to the event. Contact Supervisor for details. At the event, we will have light refreshments and drinks as well as a photobooth.
Below you can find information about the Nomination Process and Timeline. Please note we are utilizing a Collapsible Text feature. Please click the text or arrow on each header to expand each section.
Nominations require either a Nomination Letter of 300-1000 word maximums or creation of a bid to showcase content that aligns with the specific award requirements. Once you enter the Nomination Portal, each Award will have the outlined requirements.
You may only submit one nomination per staff member. Each community is permitted to nominate 1 staff member for each award -- it's imperative you all work together to determine who from your staff is nominated. The only exception to this is the "RA Hall of Fame" in which multiple members from the same staff can be nominated.
All due dates are final and cannot be extended. Please review the Important Dates Table below and plan accordingly.
Award recipients are split into various categories. The specific category will be listed on the Nomination Portal under each Award.
All nominations must be submitted via the Nomination Portal linked below.
A Bid is a nomination that reflects accomplishments or the required content that includes images, storytelling, data, and other important details to showcase the impact of the effort from staff. The purpose of the Bid is to tell a story that relates and meets the requirements of the Award you are bidding for.
Previous Bids included a PowerPoint, Cavna Poster, and even a short video. There is no platform requirement for a bid; you will be able to upload any file type when submitting a bid.
For the purpose of the Resident Assistant Reception, there is no minimum bid requirement, rather a maximum of 20 pages. If a video is submitted, the video may not exceed 7 minutes. We encourage all bids submissions to follow the accessibility guidelines listed here.
